Eluned has signed the White Ribbon Pledge and is urging others to do the same.
The ‘White Ribbon’ Pledge states, “I pledge never to commit, condone, or to remain silent about men’s violence against women in all its forms”.
White Ribbon Day takes place on the 25th of November, also known as the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women.
Violence against women affects women of all ages, from all social classes and all races. The stark figure that more than two women a week are killed by a current or former partner, shows how much of a problem domestic violence is across the UK.
“I am joining thousands of others in signing this pledge and would encourage everyone to do the same.
The Welsh Labour Government have led the way in the UK by passing landmark legislation, but we cannot be complacent – we still have more work to do on this issue.”
