I’ll have been up all night by the time you read this over your morning cuppa but, newspaper deadlines being what they are, as I write I don’t know what shape the UK government will be. What I do know is that we’ll still have a Labour Government here in Wales and I remain proud to be your Welsh Labour representative in Mid and West Wales.

That’s because Welsh Labour has already been delivering for us in Wales. There’s still much to do in terms of how we grow the economy in a way which spreads the benefits further West along the M4, but did you know that the latest household income figures show that disposable incomes per head in Wales grew by 3.3 per cent between 2014 and 2015? This means they actually rose faster than the UK average over that latest year although, overall, remained behind the value for England and Scotland.

Something that will already be making a difference is the Welsh Labour Government’s Business Wales Accelerated Growth Programme. This supports the most ambitious high-growth businesses in Wales to achieve their true high growth and, I’m pleased to say, has surpassed the 1,000 job creation milestone. The programme, which offers a bespoke package of support helping businesses to grow faster, stronger and for longer, has helped participating companies attract £21.4m of private sector investment and generate £8.3m worth of exports. It means that every £1 spent on the programme brings in a further £5 of private sector investment as well as a further £2 of exports for the Welsh economy.

One issue that’s been in my post bag recently is that of park home commission rates and I thought I’d mention that the Welsh Government has launched a consultation. The Government is asking whether the maximum commission rate of 10%, currently chargeable on the sale of every park home should be retained, changed, or abolished following the announcement in March of a review of the economics of the sector, which made several recommendations to improve standards. The consultation is open for comment until 17th August. You can find more details at this link: https://consultations.gov.wales/consultations/park-homes-commission-rate

I hope you’ll get in touch with me about other issues too. You can find me at www.facebook.com/elunedmorganam or ring my constituency office in Haverfordwest on 01437 765588
